About me

My story

Since middle school, I’ve asked myself: how can I make a larger positive impact on society? That question has guided me throughout my journey.

I grew up volunteering and mentoring younger students. My first startup experience was as a founding member of Operation Fly, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit I joined in high school to support underprivileged children and people experiencing homelessness.

I kept building startups at the zero-to-one stage, from starting a reusable dessert decoration business in high school with Bo, my current co-founder at GYBC (the name is literally our initials combined together), to selling software to restaurants.

In 2013, I co-founded FiscalNote with Tim Hwang and Jonathan Chen, two friends from middle school. Our mission was to make government and policy information more accessible and useful through AI and thoughtful design.

Over 12 years, I helped take FiscalNote from an idea to a public company, including its NYSE listing in 2022. I helped start many of its functions, including finance, operations, people, sales, customer success, and marketing. I served as Chief Strategy Officer and led our generative AI efforts. I stepped away from day-to-day management in March 2025.

What I’m focused on now

I’m full-time on GYBC. We’re building Travila, the infrastructure layer for AI products. It brings together the core capabilities needed to run AI in production behind one simple API, without vendor lock-in.

We start with the outcomes that matter most to an organization and work backwards from there. Travila handles the AI infrastructure so teams can focus on building a great product. They keep control of their product, data, and customer experience, with visibility into how the AI is working.

We use Travila to build Travila. We also build Socayo, an AI personal health coaching product, on the platform. Using Travila for our own work is a good forcing mechanism to improve the platform.

We’re actively working with design partners on their AI use cases too. Building for ourselves and our partners helps us improve Travila for real users.

GYBC values

  • Build for the long term.
  • Focus, focus, focus.
  • Trust is paramount.

What motivates me

What motivates me is helping people unlock their potential. I want to make it easier to help people improve their lives and build great things. My hope is that Travila makes it orders of magnitude easier to create great products that benefit the world.

Outside of work

I was born in Southern California and grew up in Maryland. At Emory, I studied sociology and finance. I left after my junior year to start FiscalNote.

I spend time reading, learning, working on my health, meeting friends, and being with my family. Not much else at this time.
